11/14/18 Board of Directors Minutes

Call to order: Larry Claypool called the meeting to order at 7:39 pm on November 14th.

Pledge of Allegiance: All members 

Welcome new members and Guests: There were no new members present at the meeting. 

Secretary’s Report: Paul Quattrocki moved to accept the minutes for the October 10th, meeting; Gary Ross seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Treasurer’s Report: Greg Andresen was not present at the meeting, so Larry gave the treasurer’s report with the breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $10,766.62 as of 10/31/18. 

Garage Tours: Dale Chapman reported that there was a great turnout at the Landis Wehrman collection in Grant Park on November 10th, about 22 people. The next garage tour will be at the Carriage House and Restoration in New Lenox owned by FCC member, Tom Anderson, on January 12th at 10:00 am. 

Membership Report: Time to start thinking about renewing your membership for 2019. Please fill out a membership form to return with a check. 

Newsletter/Website: Rosa was not in attendance, everything is up to date with the newsletter and website. 

Advertising/Sponsorship Report: No updates to report for Advertising/Sponsorship. 

Cruise Nights: Chuck Ravetto reported that he had just returned from the Frankfort Village Community meeting. He reported that the village approved the use of the Grass Lot on the NW corner of Elwood and cruise night dates on Thursdays from June thru August. The village also reported that it would be possible to continue to use the Prairie Lot, until the developer begins on the new building, at that time then we would have to switch over to the Grass Lot. 

Old Business: Larry reported that since that the current Board of Directors for FCC was running unopposed, he asked for a show of hands for those in favor of re-electing the current BOD. The current BOD was unanimously voted in to serve another term. 

Nancy and Chuck Lily reported that there was a great turnout for Trunk-or-Treat held on October 27th in downtown Frankfort. 

Karen reported that we currently had 19 people signed up for the Christmas Party and that we would need 50 people to get the upstairs. Pat Harvey would need the money by November 27th. The party would be held at Trails Edge on December 9, from 5pm -9pm, cost $32 per person. 

New Business: Larry summarized a story in the Chicago Tribune, reported that the Frankfort VFW was struggling financially and if anyone would like to donate there is GOFUNDME page set up for them. 

Larry shared ideas that we could start doing during our FCC meetings starting in January, such as,

Movie Night (short promotional films, Jay Leno’s Garage, etc.), Sweets auction, Pizza Night, Parking Lot Beauty Contest. Please share any ideas that you would like to do going forward during our meetings.

10/10/18 Board of Directors Minutes

Call to order: Larry Claypool called the meeting to order at 7:42 pm on October 10, 2018.

Pledge of Allegiance: All members 

Welcome new members and Guests: There were 2 new members present at the meeting, Randy Maull and Ronn Kolbash. Welcome Randy and Ronn! 

Secretary’s Report: Paul Quattrocki moved to accept the minutes for the August 7, meeting; Joe Oster seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Treasurer’s Report: Greg Andresen gave the treasurer’s report with the breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $10,941.62 as of 09/30/18.

Greg also reported that he presented a check to Frankfort Food Pantry for $2000.

Greg started a discussion on donating $500 to the Frankfort police Cadets. After a discussion, Gary Ross made a motion to approve the donation; Dave Mosier seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Garage Tours: Dale Chapman reported that there will be a garage tour on October 20th at 10:00 am at Klairmont Kollections at 3117 N. Knox in Chicago. Anyone wanting to carpool to tour can meet at the Frankfort Municipal Lot (the old Fox Lumber Lot). There is an admission charge of $20.

On November 10th at 10:00am there is a tour to see the collection of Landis Wehrman at 13735 E 6500 N Rd in Grant Park, IL.

Advertising/Sponsorship Report: No updates to report for Advertising/Sponsorship. 

Cruise Nights: Larry reported that there will be Cruise Nights for the 2019 season. The season will begin on Thursday nights, from June through August. The last Cruise Night in August to be hosted by the VFW, during Frankfort Fall Fest. We are still working with the village, to see what our parking options will be. 

Old Business: Larry Claypool reported on the FCC picnic hosted by Wayne Lucht. There was about 35 members that attended. 

Larry asked if there were any new nominations for the 2019 FCC Board. There were no new nominations, Paul Quattrocki made a motion to close the nominations; Dave Mosier seconded the motion; motion passed. 

New Business: Larry reported that Trunk or Treat in downtown Frankfort in main cruise lot will be October 27, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Larry passed a signup sheet for Treats for 2019 meetings.

09/24/18 Board of Directors Minutes

In attendance: Larry Claypool, Larry Henry, Greg Andresen, Shelly Ferguson, Chuck and Nancy Lily, Joe Oster, Bob and Karen O’Connor.

The FCC board and Committee Chairs met 9/24 to discuss Cruise Nights for the 2019 season.

After some discussion, it was decided that we will have a Thursday night Cruise Night for the months of June, July and August, with the current lots excluding the Prairie Lot. We will continue to pursue additional parking options with the village. 

Greg and Joe had talked with the VFW and they would be in favor of hosting another cruise night at the end of August, during Frankfort Fall Fest in 2019 and possibly another date, TBD. 

Greg proposed that we have a new Chair position of Village Liaison and Joe Oster volunteered for this position. Joe would represent FCC in matters with the village and Frankfort business community that would affect the club. 

Karen O’Connor reported that we had enough members respond for the picnic that we will continue on with the event.

 

 

09/12/18 Minutes

Call to order: Larry Henry called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm on September 12.

Welcome new members and Guests: Greg Andresen introduced, new member, Tom Anderson who owns the Carriage House Auto Restorations in New Lenox. He has resided in New Lenox for 18 years. He has numerous cars and is a car nut. Welcome Tom!! 

Secretary’s Report: Dale Chapman moved to accept the minutes for the August 7, meeting; Carolynn Nichols seconded the motion; motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report: Greg Andresen gave the treasurer’s report with the breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $13,497.50 as of 08/31/18. The Board of Directors had proposed to give $2000 to the Frankfort Food Pantry and $500 to the VFW. Joe Oster moved to accept; Leonard Myers seconded the motion; motion passed.

Garage Tours: Dale Chapman reported that there will be a garage tour on October 20th at 10:00 am at Klairmont Kollections at 3117 N. Knox in Chicago. There is an admission charge of $20.

Cruise Nights: There will be a flyer handed out at the last cruise night in Frankfort to inform cruisers to watch our website for information on the future of Cruise Nights in Frankfort as it comes available.

The Cruise Night at VFW was a success. We will discuss with the VFW about hosting more cruise nights for the 2019 season.

Joe Oster attended a meeting with the Historic Frankfort Business Association to discuss the future of Cruise Nights. 

Old Business: Karen O’Connor reported that so far, there has been only 20 members to sign up for the picnic, so she going to have Rosa send out an email blast to remind members of the picnic and to RSVP. The picnic is hosted by Wayne Lucht on Saturday, September 29th at noon.

Joe Oster gave a report on the meeting he had with the Business Association. There was a discussion on the future of cruise nights with the different options that the BOD and Committee Chairs had created on the meeting that they had on September 8th

New Business:

Trunk or Treat is October 27th in Frankfort. J.P. made a motion for a budget of $350 for candy; Dave Mosier seconded the motion; motion passed.

08/07/18 Minutes

Secretary’s Report: Karen O’Connor moved to accept the minutes for the July 11th, meeting; Dale Chapman seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Treasurer’s Report: Greg Andresen gave the treasurer’s report with the breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $14,107.68 as of 07/31/18. Gary Ross moved to accept; J.P. seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Garage Tours: Dale Chapman reported that garage tours will start back up again in the fall.

Membership Report: We are taking applications for new members. Membership fee for new member is $15 from now until September 30. 

Newsletter/Website: Rosa was not in attendance, but she sent an email stating that everything is up to date with the newsletter and website. 

Advertising/Sponsorship Report: No updates to report for Advertising/Sponsorship. 

Cruise Nights: Chuck Ravetto commented that we are still looking for volunteers for Parking Lot and Stage Ticket sales for the last few weeks of cruise nights. 

Old Business: Karen O’Connor passed around directions and a signup sheet, so members could let her know what they would be bringing to the picnic. The picnic is hosted by Wayne Lucht on Saturday, September 29th at noon. She also reported that the Christmas Party will be on December 9, at Trails Edge in Frankfort.

Shelly Ferguson commented that we needed 75 cars for Camp Quality event the following evening. 

New Business: Shelly passed around a signup sheet for the Frankfort Fall Fest Parade and the Car Display on Elwood St. Please contact Shelly Ferguson or Larry Claypool if interested in participating.

Larry Claypool via Skype led a discussion on the future of cruise nights due to the upcoming development of the Prairie Lot. After much discussion and many ideas as to which direction the club should take, Dennis Heywood made a motion to table the discussion until the October meeting. Joe Oster seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Cruise Nights: The FCC board is planning a meeting on August 4th to discuss the Village proposal of the development of a restaurant and other business that would affect the Prairie Parking Lot. More details to follow at the next club meeting. 

Old Business: Karen O’Connor reminded members of the club picnic on Saturday, September 29, hosted by Wayne Lucht. Karen, Pat Harvey, and Nancy Lily will make the main dishes. Karen would like to have a count of how many members and their family will be attending so she will know how much food to prepare. We need members attending to bring a side dish, salad, dessert, or anything you would like to share.

Karen also reported that the she has been checking into having the Christmas Party at Trails Edge, on either December 2, or December 9th. More details to follow. 

New Business: Shelly mentioned that Camp Quality will be held on Wednesday, August 8th. We are looking for 85 cars. We will meet next to the Trolley Barn in the large municipal parking lot and will get a police escort to Camp Manitoqua. Do not go directly to the camp on your own. Do not forget your current insurance card! 

Shelly also mentioned that since Camp Quality will be held on our normal meeting day, we have our monthly meeting moved to Tuesday, August 7th.

 Bill and Carolynn Nichols shared that they had just bought a 2017 50th Anniversary Camaro.

Garage Tours: Dale Chapman reported that garage tours will start back up again in October. It was also discussed on how far we would like to go for a garage tour. If you have any suggestions for garage tours, please pass them along to Dale.

Advertising/Sponsorship Report: We ended our 2018 Advertising/Sponsor campaign with a total of $4675.00. Dan Colyer also has updated our sandwich boards. 

Cruise Nights: Chuck reported that the village wanted us to remind everyone at cruise night that they can’t bring or carry alcoholic beverages. Greg wanted to acknowledge Jim Demuth on his contribution on selling tickets. Thank you, Jim! We are still seeking volunteers for ticket sales, please see Chuck for details. 

Old Business: Larry mentioned that the village held a meeting last month on a proposal to develop a restaurant and other businesses at the Prairie Park Lot. There will be another meeting in July for the village to discuss this further. More information will follow when it becomes available. Larry mentioned Wayne Lucht has offered to host the Club Picnic on Saturday, September 29. 

New Business: Karen mentioned that we need to think about where we would like to have the Christmas Party. Karen would like to get an idea how many would be attending. More information to follow.

Bill and Carolynn Nichols shared that they had just bought a new 2019 Corvette. Congratulations Bill and Carolynn!

Call to order: Larry Claypool called the meeting to order at 7:33 pm on May 9, 2018. 

Pledge of Allegiance: All members 

Welcome new members and Guests: There were no new members attending the meeting. We had a guest in attendance, Candace Hanley, the Northern Illinois Representative of the NSRA (National Street Rod Association). Candace presented the club with a plaque for the continuous work that we do for our Cruise Nights each week. 

Secretary’s Report: Paul Quattrocki moved to accept the minutes for the April 11, meeting; Karen O’Connor seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Treasurer’s Report: Greg Andresen gave the treasurer’s report with the breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $11,272.58 as of 04/30/18. Dale Chapman moved to accept; Rosa Acevedo seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Garage Tours: Dale Chapman mentioned the garage tour at Big Daddy’s Kustom Fabrication in Monee on April 14th. He also mentioned that Midwest Street Rods is having their annual open house on May 20th

Membership Report: We are still collecting 2018 dues. 

Newsletter/Website: Rosa reported that everything is up to date with the newsletter and website. She is going to be giving the website a facelift and will be updating the website and newsletter with current sponsors and advertisers. 

Advertising/Sponsorship Report: We have finished up with our 2018 campaign for Advertisers and Sponsors and will be working on our Cruise Night flyer. A big Thank You to Chuck and Sharon Ravetto for their efforts on getting last minute sponsors. 

Cruise Nights: Chuck Ravetto reported that we are all set with volunteers for our first Cruise Night. Larry, Chuck, and Gary met downtown to test the sound system and made sure everything is ready to go for Cruise Nights. Parking for Cruise Night cars will be the same as last year. 

Old Business: We passed around a sign-up sheet for Cruise Night volunteers. 

New Business: Larry mentioned that the village was holding a meeting on a proposal to develop a restaurant and other businesses at the Prairie Park Lot. Gary Ross and Ruth Ann attended that meeting. More information will follow, when it becomes available. Larry also mentioned that Home Depot was holding a Kids Workshop on Saturday, June 2, and would like to include a small Classic Car Show from 8:30 to 12:30. 04/11/18 Minutes

Welcome new members and Guests: There were no new members attending the meeting. We had 2 guests in attendance, Tiffany and Laura from the Frankfort VFW. 

Secretary’s Report: Dale Chapman moved to accept the minutes for the March 14, meeting; Karen O’Connor seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Treasurer’s Report: Greg Andresen gave the treasurer’s report with the breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $10,322.58 as of 03/31/18. Gary Ross moved to accept; Paul Quattrocki seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Garage Tours: Dale Chapman mentioned the garage tour on March 17th at LM Engineering in Momence and there are pictures on our website courtesy Kirk Parro. He also mentioned the upcoming tour at Big Daddy’s Kustom Fabrication in Monee on April 14th and is working on something for May. 

Membership Report: We are still collecting 2018 dues. Most everyone has paid, maybe only 15 members from 2017 who haven’t paid yet. 

Newsletter: Only those who don’t have email or computer will get a mailed copy to them. Please let us know if you need a copy mailed to you. 

Advertising/Sponsorship Report: Larry and Shelly made packets for potential advertisers/sponsors. If anyone would like a packet to take to a potential advertiser/sponsor, please let Larry or Shelly know so we can get a packet to you. 

Cruise Nights: Chuck Ravetto reported that he met with Mary Canino, the Frankfort Village’s Community Relations Manager to discuss the upcoming cruise night season. He mentioned to her about restaurant employees parking in the main lot during Cruise Night, she said she would send a note around to the restaurants. 

Old Business: We passed around a sign-up sheet for Cruise Night volunteers. 

New Business: Tiffany and Laura, from the Frankfort VFW, gave a presentation on hosting a cruise event at the Frankfort VFW, with the help of our club. They would provide a DJ, food, flyers for the event, and drink specials. We are thinking, possibly, Thursday August 30th, the start of Frankfort Fall Fest as there is no cruise night that week.

Secretary’s Report: Paul Quattrocki moved to accept the minutes for the February 14, meeting; Al Huston seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Treasurer’s Report: In the absence of Greg Andersen, Larry Henry gave the treasurer’s report with the breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $8512.58 as of 02/28/18. Wayne Lucht moved to accept; Pat Harvey seconded the motion; motion passed. 

Garage Tours: Dale Chapman reported that there were about 22 people that showed up at the garage tour at Eastwood Company in Alsip. He also mentioned the upcoming garage tours on March 17th at LM Engineering in Momence and Big Daddy’s Kustom Fabrication in Monee on April 14th

Membership Report: We are currently taking dues for 2018. 

Newsletter: Larry mentioned that this would be the last newsletter if you haven’t paid your 2018 dues. 

Advertising/Sponsorship Report: Larry and Shelly sent out letters to our current advertisers/sponsors They also made packets for potential advertisers/sponsors. If anyone would like a packet to take to a potential advertiser/sponsor, please let Larry or Shelly know so we can get a packet to you. 

Cruise Nights: Chuck Ravetto reported that he will be meeting with Mary Canino, the Frankfort Village’s Community Relations Manager to discuss the upcoming cruise night season. 

Old Business: There was a discussion on upgrading the sound system for the upcoming cruise night season. Parking for cruise night will also remain the same as it was last year. 

New Business: There was a discussion on the upcoming cruise nights. We will need volunteers for the ticket sales on the stage and ticket sales for the parking lot. If you would like to volunteer, please email Sharon Ravetto at ravetto1969@att.net with your name, preferred date, phone number, and if you would like to sell tickets on the stage or parking lot. We will also have a sign-up sheet at the next meeting.

Treasurer’s Report: Greg Andersen gave a breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $8,447.58 as of 01/31/18. Larry Loven moved to accept, Gary Ross, seconded the motion; motion passed.  

Garage Tours: J.P. reported that photos of the garage tour on January 13th at Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle are up on the website. Dale Chapman reported on what we can expect at the garage tour at Eastwood Company in Alsip on February 18, 2018. Dale is still working on the garage tour for March, details will follow.  

Membership Report: Greg reported that before the meeting we had 46 paid members for 2018.  

Newsletter: Greg reminded everyone that if you have an email address and are a current member and aren’t receiving your newsletter, check with us to make sure we have the correct email address. We are only mailing newsletters to those members that don’t have an email address or computer.  

Advertising/Sponsorship Report: If you have a local vendor that you think would be interested in advertising and/or being a sponsor for the club, let us know so we could contact them. Larry and Shelly are making a packet for potential new advertisers and/or sponsors.  

Cruise Nights: Chuck Ravetto reported that cruise nights will begin on May 17 and run through Sept. 13. He would like to investigate further with an upgrade to the current sound system.  

Old Business: There was some discussion on the Scholarships being tabled this year. We are looking for suggestions of any local charities that we could donate the scholarship money, or would we like to make a larger donation to any current charity.  

New Business: There was some discussion on Camp Quality for this year. More details will follow later.

Our Christmas Party was the first topic of discussion. Opinion was clear that a good time was had by all. The last-minute change of location, because of low attendance didn't cause a problem. Thanks to Karen O'Conner and her staff.

Dale Chapman reported that the next garage tour is January 13th beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle. Next month, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. The garage tour will be at Eastwood Company in Alsip. Information to follow. 

Newsletter and Website: Shelly reported that the newsletter was out on time and the website is up to date. 

On December 30th there was a leadership meeting for 2018 about the direction the club is going. The committee suggested to table the scholarship program because the lack of student interest. Judy Rago suggested Silver Cross as a charity, Larry Claypool mentioned the club promote local. It was asked to bring up to the membership at the Jan. meeting. 

Cruise Nights: A suggestion was made to have three people on the stage selling tickets and one person selling tickets in the parking lot. We need a sign up sheet for both the stage and parking. A reminder phone call will be made before that cruise night by Shari Ravetto. 

Karen O'Conner and Pat Harvey will cover the Christmas party and picnic.  

Newsletter: Newsletters will no longer be mailed out to those who have e-mail address. Contact Larry Claypool or Shelly Ferguson for information. 

The club needs a chair person for advertisements. Larry Claypool and Shelly Ferguson are putting a packet together for the sponsors. 

New Business: Shelly Ferguson ask the 22 members that attended the 1 st meeting of the year to review the following. 

Ask yourself: How will the club change in the next 12 months? If no additional help comes from membership, will we become a social club? Will our efforts and income become minimum?

Welcome new members:Larry welcomed 4 new members to the club, Jerry Berger, Chicago (Corvair), Kevan Jedlowski, Frankfort (AC Cobra), Jim Fuchs, and Robert Dixon, Manhattan (54 Studebaker & many others).

Bob Dixon was present at the meeting and discussed his many different cars.

Treasurer’s Report: Greg Andresen gave a breakdown of deposits and withdrawals for the month with an ending balance of $9397.37 as of 9/30/2017. Pat Harvey moved to accept, Chuck Lily, seconded the motion; motion passed 

Nominations for 2018 Board of Directors: Last month, Chuck Lily was nominated for member at large and Shelly Ferguson was nominated for Secretary for the 2018 board. Larry opened the floor for anymore nominations for the board. There were no new nominations. Voting will take place in November.

Cruise Nights: We submitted our request for use of Public Property-Permit Application stating our cruise nights dates for 2018 starting May 17, through Sept. 13. We are also working to get more volunteers for 2018 cruise nights, such as ticket sales, setting up, taking down, and help at the raffle table. Anyone that would like to volunteer for next year, please see Chuck Ravetto. There was some discussion about how we can extend the range of the speakers to the Prairie Lot like a radio transmitter, so the public can hear us in that lot as well. Wayne Lucht had suggested at maybe the club could make a donation to the village so they could get something that could expand the frequency to the other lot. Considerable discussion took place over cruise night parking. 

Garage Tours: There will be a garage tour at Art Bulmann’s on October 15th for 10am. Art has an extensive motorcycle & memorabilia collection.

The next a garage tour is on Nov 11th 10:00 am at Shockwave Customs near SE corner of Rte. 30 and LaGrange (Rte. 45).

Frankfort Police Department’s Trunk or Treat will be on October 28th

The Independence Car Club final cruise on October 29th

Pat Harvey talked about the upcoming Christmas Party on December 3rd at the V.F.W. in New Lenox. She is collecting the money for the Christmas Party $20 per person, $40 for a couple. You can mail your checks to her. The Christmas club committee is also taking donations, new and unopened items for the raffle baskets. Please bring your items to the November meeting. 

New Business: Greg reported that there has been some discussion on advertising in local area newspapers in the area. They will publish in the Community Events section on the newspaper our cruise events and meetings, they can also link up to our website.

Nancy Lily proposed to have a hard copy of the membership directory.

Larry reported there was a budget meeting on September 10,2017 at Karen O'Connor’s house. Karen gave a quick report of results. Karen reported we had a short comings of funds this year due to sponsorship issues but we did meet all our responsibilities. Frankfort Car Club gave $1000.00 to Camp Quality, 3 scholarships for total of $3000.00, Food Pantry $1000.00, Trunk & Treat $300.00, Donation to Independence Car Club of $250.00 for Back to school kick off, $200.00 for year end picnic, $150.00 for bereavement, which will increase to $200.00 in 2018. Anyone interested in viewing the budget please see Karen.

Camp Quality: Shelley reported we had 72 cars for 78 children. This year was a success. Thank you everyone for making this day successful! Good job done by Shelley!

Old Business:  JP updated members on the calendar project Judy Rago and he has been working on. JP spoke to someone and got info for the calendar. At this time it would be too costly and not feasible. Larry reported the Frankfort Fall Fest Parade was great exposure for the club. We had 11 cars for viewing and 13 in the parade. Thanks to all who participated. reminder the picnic is September 16 12885 Ridgeland in Mokena. Check out website for more information. Christmas party is December 3 at the New Lenox VFW from 5pm to 9pm. The cost for each member is $20.00. Money needs to be turned in by November.


New Business: Larry reported Trunk & Treat is coming up. The date and more information on this event will be posted on our website when we receive the information. Larry also reminded members for the new upcoming year 2018 there will be 2 positions open on the board. Larry opened the floor for nominations. Gary Ross nominated Shelley Ferguson. Shelley accepted. JP stated they are thinking of an 18 month calendar.  JP  & Judy are checking on pricing and will have update for members for the October meeting. Larry reminded members this year picnic is September 16, 2017 at Terry Myers home. Camp Quality: Shelly reported everything is set for August 9, 2017. Reminder that Camp Quality is on the same night as meeting night for August so the meeting for the month of August will be Tuesday August 8, 2017 same time and same location. Shelly sent Deputy Chief the map and has requested 2 officers to help with traffic but we also need 6 volunteers to help at certain locations. We will have a sign-up sheet at next month’s meeting. 

Cruise Night Coordinator: Chuck reported cruise nights are going good. We have had great turn outs. Some nights almost 250 cars. Larry reported the mayor has worked with businesses and the club and has managed to get our parking back with the exception of Kansas Street. We do have follow up meeting scheduled for July 12 2017. Greg, Chuck & Joe will attend. 

New business: Larry reported Kids Night is June 29 2017. If anyone has ideas for games on entertaining the kids let us know. Assist Chief of Police also contacted Larry to say a citizen reported someone walking around cruise night with open alcohol. This person claimed to be a car club member. Larry is reminding all members open alcohol is not allowed. If you see someone with alcohol, please remind them this is not allowed. Larry also had Rosa post this on webpage to make everyone aware. Also Larry will have Rosa post some car events that are coming up on the website for anyone interested or looking for something to do so keep checking our webpage.

New business: Larry reported Cruise night parking has some major changes happening. Larry discussed with members the changes and also Larry put out copies of parking maps for members. Larry has posted articles in newspapers and on website for everyone to see. Members expressed their thoughts and opinions on this change, Larry asked us all to be cooperative and lets just see how this goes. Tom Redding, owner of Smokey Bark attended the meeting and spoke to members briefly about the parking and his talk with the mayor regarding this. The mayor told Tom to see how this goes and if it turns into an issue for him let him know and he will see about changing parking back to the way it was. Tom reassured us he stands behind the club 100%. Greg Andresen wanted to add to the members this statement: I wish to thank all club officers and chairpersons for listening to my suggestions for improvements to club operations. The cruise night issue, Thursday night or a different night, available parking lots multiple presentations to village officials has been my passion since May 2016. Chuck Ravetto, Joe Oster and I have become your political representatives that changed on April 30th during the emergency meeting in the home of Larry Claypool. The clubs village approved plan was not acceptable to the membership. Parking north of the trail plus the prairie lot is now the clubs permitted space. After tonight, I will only work on the responsibilities of treasurer and attempt to restart the failed advertising program. I welcome any and all help. Thank You. Greg Andresen

Due to parking issues Frankfort village did a parking study, Joe, Greg and Chuck attended a meeting with the village. So far it has been decided Ash Street, Kansas street will be closed for cruise night cars, we will be able to park diagonally, Also they requested that Prairie parking lot be used for over flow only. Joe and Chuck were attending the final meeting this evening and will update everyone at next month’s meeting. Members are urged to attend.

Web-site/Newsletter: Rosa Acevedo reports website is updated. Newsletter was sent out twice to all members by email to make sure everyone receives it. This will also happen for the month of March. Anyone needs something in the newsletter please forward information to her. Remember deadline is the 25th of every month. Ruth Ann Ross has generously volunteered to help members write an article for newsletter for the worst or best car. Anyone needing help please contact Ruth Ross.

Garage Tours: Dale reported next tour will be March 26, 2017 at Dennis Haywards Packard Museum. Dale will have Rosa post information on website and send out emails. 

Old Business: Christmas Party for 2017 is locked in with the New Lenox VFW, Judy, Karen & Patsy will keep us informed as they make more progress. Anyone interested in donating for raffle baskets for the Christmas party please contact one of the ladies. Shelly Ferguson, who is overseeing the details on Camp Quality, is meeting with Frankfort Police Dept. regarding escort, new route to avoid the train. Shelly will keep us posted. 

New business: Members please remember to renew membership for the 2017 year. Dan Coyler announced March 19, 2017 is the Tinley Park 18th annual Parade. Dan has volunteered his car. Everyone is welcome. Joe Olsten reported Greg and himself will be meeting in April with Mary Keenan and Frankfort Police Chief regarding cruise nights. Also they will be attending Frankfort Historical District meeting. Anyone with ideas, concerns to share please contact Joe or Greg. 

Open Floor: Gary Ross presented J.P an award for his Good Work for all he’s done for the Frankfort Car Club. Thank You J.P! Wayne told members his story of how he became a Frankfort Car Club

Approval of 1/11/2017 meeting minutes: Larry Claypool moved to accept; Bob O’Connor seconded the motion. Motion passed 

Treasure’s report: Greg Andresen (not in attendance) Karen reported the balance of $9682.31 as of 1-31-17. Larry Claypool moved to approve the report; Al Huston seconded the motion. all members approved

Budget/scholarship: Karen O’Conner reported Greg suggested at recent Board meeting we increase the scholarship to $3000.00, Karen recommended to members we wait till our budget meeting to vote, members agreed. Karen will also post scholarship recipients on the website for members to see; also if they wish to attend graduation night, you are more than welcome to.

Garage tour coordinator: Dale Chapman thanked everyone for coming out to the Eastwood Garage tour, we had a huge turnout but the AMG tour was terrible. No members showed up but Dale & Bonnie.  AMG was a great tour. Dale is also looking for ideas for future tours. If anyone has ideas Please get Dale the information so he may schedule a tour. Jody Dilling sent information regarding a trip to Dearborn IL. Rosa will send out information to members and also post on our website.

Sponsorship & advertising chairperson: Heather Hayne reported she has revised the sponsorship letter and is ready to mail out but will also follow up with phone calls to our sponsors.

Web site: Rosa Acevedo reported website is all updated to date. Anyone interested in member of the month for the newsletter, please submit pictures and small bio about yourself and the car. Also any classified ads. Email information to the Frankfort Car Club email address.

New business: We will have a membership table set up at every cruise night for people who wish to join or even renew membership. We have asked each school to provide us a flag to display on or around the table.  Joe Oster is going to be the Cruise night coordinator chairman. Sharon & Chuck will still do the set up and tear down. Joe is still looking for members to help with the 50/50 and host the membership table. Joe will be passing around sign-up sheet at the next 3 meetings for members to volunteer. Judy Rago has locked us in to December 3, 2017 at V.F.W Hall in New Lenox for this year’s Christmas party. Greg has issued the deposit. Karen is asking for baskets and items to put in the baskets for the raffle. Anyone has anything to donate, contact Karen and she will make arrangements to get it. Karen also mentioned we are still in need of board members. Anyone interested need to contact a current board member or attend next meeting.

Larry also thanked the Christmas Committee for a great job on the Christmas party. It was a huge success. Beautiful Job!

New business: Judy suggested the 2017 Christmas Party be held at the V.F.W Hall in New Lenox. She has made inquiry regarding this and will update more as the information comes. Dale reported the Top Quilt Shop that is usually open on Thursday evenings has graciously changed their hours of operation to Wednesday evenings to help accommodate our cruise night parking on Thursday.

Web site: Rosa Acevedo reported the web site is updated. We have a new website name, Frankfortcarclub.club. Rosa received a lot of positive feedback from members on the website and the newsletter! GREAT JOB ROSA!

Old Business: A member asked for Larry to refresh the clubs memory of the outcome with the parking issue and the mayor. Larry opened the conversation to Greg Andresen whom was on the special committee to speak to the Mayor. Greg spoke to the Mayor on July 1,2016 and the mayor reassured Greg the Frankfort car club was fine for Thursday nights. Greg will ask the mayor to attend the October meeting to speak to members on this subject again.

New business: Larry read to members an email of resignation from Pete Alukas and also Tom Searle. Any member who wishes to read, see Larry or Brenda. There are also 3 board member positions open for 2017. Larry asked members to think of nominations for next month’s meeting. Voting will be in November. Trunk & Treat is coming up in October; Larry will get more details of date and time by next month meeting for anyone interested. If anyone ordered/paid for a Frankfort Car Club T-shirt and did NOT receive one, please let Larry or Brenda know as soon as possible. The Christmas party this year will be at Gatto’s in New Lenox on December 4, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Menu will be presented at October meeting. Members are welcome to bring dessert. Desserts MUST BE store or bakery bought. NO HOMEMADE OR ITALIAN DESSERTS WILL BE ALLOWED.

Open Floor Discussion: Greg Andresen invited members to join him September 21, 2016 for Township Day 2016. (see flyer in newsletter) Greg will be there at 5:00 pm also Greg informed members of the Taste of Frankfort Fall Reception Tuesday September 27, 2016. (See flyer in newsletter) Larry informed members Clairidons retirerment center is having a Fall Festival October 15, 2016 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm They are looking for at least 8 cars to participate, If anyone is interested see or call Larry for more information. Budget/scholarship: Karen O’Conner reported the 2nd scholarship we have been waiting to award will NOT be given due to the fact the student changed schools and the school they chose does not have automotive classes.

Web site: Larry Loven introduced a gentleman named Paul who may be interested in doing the website. Paul currently does the website for the Manhattan Car Club. Karen O’Conner asked about Rosa and also suggested we ask her to come back and continue to do the website and possibly the newsletter. Brenda agreed to bring Rosa to the following cruise night so Larry and the board can speak to her regarding this matter.

New business: Picnic date has been changed to September 24th at 12; 00 pm. The picnic will be at Wayne’s Place, Address and map to location will be forth coming soon. Frankfort Township Charities Car show will be on September 25, 2016. From 1 pm to 4 pm at the Frankfort Township Complex. Phillips Chevy in Frankfort car show will be September 10, 2016. Flyers are being distributed. Karen has started working on this year’s Christmas party and will be giving members more information soon. We formed a Christmas party committee which will include Karen, Ruth and Pat. Dale informed members the printer Mike, who has been printing our newsletter will be retiring in December so we will need to start looking for another print company.
